Kolkata: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had a telephonic talk with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee this morning, a day after Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee ended her 25-day old fast on the Singur issue.

Chief Minister's secretariat sources confirmed the telephonic conversation but did not divulge what transpired between the two leaders.

Banerjee ended her fast late last night at the request of President A P J Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee 'in the hope of getting justice' for her demands to protect interests of farmers affected by the Tata Motors small car project at Singur.
