Sunita Williams keeps things working in the space Tuesday, January 09, 2007 11:51 [IST]
Washington:
After two days of a 'star gazing' holiday in celebration of the Russian
Orthodox Christmas, it was back to work for Indian American astronaut Sunita
'Suni' Williams and her two companions at the International Space Station.
Even over the weekend off days, the crew conducted its
weekly three-hour station cleaning with flight engineer Williams making rounds
servicing laptops. She first performed the regular bi-monthly reboot of a
router and file server and the weekly rebooting of all laptops.
Williams and Commander Mike Lopez-Alegria also continued
their weekly food frequency questionnaires, said National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA).
Sunday began with a ham radio session by Williams with
participants in the Australian Scout Jamboree 2007 at Elmore, Victoria, Australia.
She conducted two more sessions Monday, one with the Sherman Elementary School
in Henrietta, New York
and the other with the Dilworth Elementary School in San Jose, California.
Russian flight engineer Mikhail Tyurin received a 10-minute
VIP call from Patriarch Alexis II of the Russian Orthodox Church Sunday.
