Convene Assembly: UP Govt recommends to Governor Friday, January 12, 2007 05:54 [IST]
Lucknow: A day after dropping its plan to re-convene the
Assembly session next Monday, Uttar Pradesh Government today (Jan 12, 2007)decided
to recommend to the Governor to convene a fresh joint-session of the state
legislature the date of which would be decided later.
The decision to convene a new session was taken at a cabinet meeting here this
morning.
The new session would be decided in consultation with the Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Azam Khan, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters after the
meeting.
Though the Chief Minister refused to divulge the date of convening the
Assembly, sources said the session would be convenend on January 18.
