Cold wave continues in Delhi Monday, January 15, 2007 01:15 [IST]
New Delhi: Cold wave continued to grip the national capital today as minumum temperature dipped to 4.8 degree Celsius, two degress below normal temperature.
The minimum temperature yesterday was 5.7 degree celsius. A thin blanket of mist engulfed the capital early this morning and air traffic remained unaffected. The runway visibility range at the Indira Gandhi International Airport was around 1000 metres and all flights operated on schedule, airport sources said. The visibility was around 200 metres in Safdurjang in the morning but improved later in the day. The maximum temperature was 19.3 degree celsius, two degrees below normal, the met office said. It predicted a partly cloudy sky and minimum temperature at around 5 degree celsius tomorrow. The capital has been under the grip of intense cold wave conditions since the last three to four days with the season's lowest temperature of 2.6 degree celsius being recorded on January 8. |
