New Delhi: All-India Kashmir Samaj, an organisation of Kashmiri Pandits, has welcomed the four-point formula proposed by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Kashmir.

"We also appreciate the positive response of the Government of India to this proposal for the overall peace and stability of the region and for settlement of Kashmir issue in particular," it said in a statement yesterday (Jan 18,2007).

For the first time in 60 years, Pakistan had accepted the fact that "it has no claim on Kashmir. It is now time for New Delhi to move a step ahead and start an immediate dialogue with Islamabad on the proposed solution", it said.

The Samaj hoped political and separatist groups of Jammu and Kashmir would also support the proposal.
