BHEL units clock PLF of 76.5 pc in 9 months of '07 Tuesday, January 30, 2007 03:00 [IST]
New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd manufactured sets
registered a plant load factor (PLF) of 76.5 per cent as against 72.5 per cent
during the first nine months of fiscal 2006-07.
Dahanu thermal power station unit II (250 MW) of BSES and six units of NTPC
power stations at Vindhyachal, Singrauli, Korba and Dadri operated a PLF of
over 100 per cent, BHEL said in a statement today.
In addition, 55 thermal units operating at various locations with BHEL made
equipment registered a high PLF of 90 per cent and above.
During the financial year 2005-06,BHEL added 2,365 MW in the country comprising
13 utility and 15 captive/industrial sets. "With this, the installed capacity
of BHEL manufactured sets went up to 76,741 MW and BHEL maintained its share of
65 per cent in the country s total installed capacity," the state-run
company said.
Targeting to meet the country s capacity addition targets during the 11th five
year plan, BHEL has invested about Rs 1,200 crore for modernisation and
capacity expansion of its facilities from 6,000 MW per annum at present to
10,000 MW per annum.
The company also plans to further increase its capacity to 15,000 MW as
required by the country s power sector.
Besides, BHEL has taken necessary steps for upgradation and introduction of new
technologies to produce thermal power equipment for the next higher rating 800
MW sets and above.
