| Jessica case: Manu Sharma files appeal in SC |

New Delhi: ManuSharma, son of a senior Congress leader who is undergoing life term in thesensational murder case of model Jessica Lall, today filed an appeal in SupremeCourt challenging the Delhi High Court's judgement.
Sharma, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Delhi High Court onDecember 20 last year after being held guilty for murdering Lall, filed theappeal assailing the grounds of his conviction and sought reversal of theorder.
Two others Vikas Yadav, son of controversial Uttar Pradesh politician D PYadav, and Amardeep Singh Gill alias Tony, an executive with MNC, weresentenced to four years imprisonment for conspiring with Sharma, son of VenodSharma, to destroy the evidence in the case.
A trial court had on February 21 last year acquitted all nine accused due tolack of evidence against them, leading to massive public outrage.
Lall was shot on the intervening night of April 29-30 at a party at Qutub Colonnaderestaurant in south Delhi.
