SC refuses to extend deadline to file affidavits

New Delhi: TheSupreme Court today (Feb 2, 2007) refused to extend the deadline of January 31for filing of affidavits by the traders using residential premises forcommercial purposes in the national capital.

The court directed the Centre to place before it the background documents thatled to the foundation for the Master Plan for Delhi-2021.

A Bench headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat made it clear that at the moment itwas not going into the issue of filing of the affidavits and it was not goingto pass any order on the extension of the deadline.

Solicitor General G E Vahanvati informed the court that the MPD was preparedafter 12 groups of experts and eminent people were involved in it.

The Bench posted the matter for further hearing on February 20.
