| Navy to undertake biggest-ever manoeuvres in sea |

New Delhi:Post-OperationParakaram, Navy has massed up its almost entire fighting flotilla to undertakeits biggest-ever sea manoeuvres in the entire expanse of the Arabian Sea throughout this month. "The flotilla of 50 warships drawn from both its Eastern and Westernfleets comprising the carrier INS Viraat, stealth Talwar class frigates, Rajputclass missile destroyers and indigenous Delhi and Brahamputra and Ganga classwarships would take part in the manoeuvres which could involve live firings,"a Naval spokesman said here.
The wargames christened Operation 'Tropex'(Theatre Readiness OperationalExercise) will also involve specialised landing army units, IAF fighters aswell as Coast Guard vessels and force multipliers like the Unmanned AerialVehicles and helicopters.
"Navy will validate amphibious landings and exercise tactics aimed atinfluencing battles on land from force deployment at sea," the spokesman.
"As part of the exercise, troop landings from seaward are also likely tobe structured", he said.
The spokesman said as a precursor, forces comprising both Eastern and Westernfleets were presently engaged in drills and manoeuvres in a joint exercise.
