Ghoreshwar: 3 -year old boy rescued from borewell

Katni (MP):"A three-year old boy was rescued early today froma borewell pit over 12 hours after he slipped into it while playing atGhoreshwar village near here," a senior official said.

Men and machines worked relentlessly and rescued Amit Kushwaha safely earlythis morning, District Collector, Anupam Rajan, told sources

"The boy had got stuck at around 20 feet of the 50 feet deep hole. He isfine", Rajan said. Amit was now kept under observation at the districthospital here.

"A parallel hole was dug by the rescue team around 3 feet away from thepit and the boy was pulled out safely," he said adding that oxygen waspumped into the pit while a close-circuit camera was installed to monitor hismovements.

Senior officials, including the Collector, supervised the rescue operation.

Amit Kushwaha fell in the borewell pit last evening prompting theadministration to launch rescue efforts.
