New Delhi:The Delhi High Court today (Feb 7, 2007) refused to entertain a petitionchallenging the Master Plan for Delhi 2021 saying the same has yet not beennotified.

"We cannot pass any order on the Master Plan, which is yet to be notifiedas it would amount to pre-judging an issue," a Division Bench, comprisingChief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, said.

The Bench was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) alleging that theCentre has no power to formulate and notify a master plan for regulating thecapital's development.

"Let the Master Plan come into existence, then we will hear illegalities,if any, involved into it." The Centre has yesterday approved the MasterPlan for Delhiwith the Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy putting his signatureon the draft," they said.
