CBI gets 14 days custody of Nithari killings accus

pandherGhaziabad:Aspecial court today remanded Moninder Singh Pandher and Surendra Koli, mainaccused in the Nithari serial killings, to 14 days' CBI custody.

The duo were produced before special CBI Judge Sapna Misra, who sent them to 14days remand for the murder of Nanda Devi,Pandher's maid servant.

This is the third time that Pandher and Koli were remanded to CBI custody sincethe serial killings case, which shook the nation, came to light.

They were brought in through the backdoor of the court complex under a cloud ofsecrecy at around 10 am, Superintendent of Police Govind Aggrawal toldreporters here.

Media personnel were barred from entering the courtroom, where the proceedingslasted for about five minutes.

All entry points to the court complex were barred and tight security measureswere put in place.

Pandher and Koli were severely beaten up by a group of lawyers and public whenthey were produced in the court last time on January 25.

The Central probe agency had taken the custody of the two accused on January 11from the Uttar Pradesh Police and registered a total of 19 cases against them.

The police had on December 29 recovered skulls and human remains from a drainbehind Pandher's D-5, Sector 31 residence in Noida unearthing the serialkillings of children and women allegedly by him and his domestic help Koli.
