New Delhi: TheDelhi Pradesh Citizen's Council today moved the Supreme Court challenging theconstitutional validity of the Delhi Master Plan-2021, notified by the Centreon Wednesday (Feb 7, 2007).

In an application moved through counsel Jasbir Malik, the forum urged the ApexCourt to quash the MPD-2021 as being ultravires and violative of fundamentalrights of citizens.

Questioning the notification, the petition alleged that the Centre rushedthrough the MPD with twin objectives of appeasing the voters and ridingroughshod over the directions passed by the Supreme Court in the sealingmatter.
