Earthquake measuring 4.3 hits northwest China

Beijing:  Anearthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale hit Hotan county in thetremor-prone northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region today  (Feb 13, 2007)but there was no report of anycasualty or damages.

The quake occurred at 7:11 am (local time) today, according to the regionalearthquake monitoring network.

The quake occurred at 79.6 east longitude and 36.9 north latitude, Xinhua newsagency reported.

The temblor was also felt in neighbouring areas.
