| India-China hotline set up, for liberalization |

New Delhi: Agreeing that they needed to build 'mutualpolitical trust', India and China today set up a hotline between their foreignministers and decided to liberalise visa regimes as part of initiatives tostrengthen their ties. China also sought to allayconcerns in Indiaover its recent anti-satellite missile test, saying it was carried out only forscientific reasons and was not targeted against any country.
At the talks between External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and visitingChinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing here, the two sides also stressed thattheir Special Representatives needed to "further intensify" theirdialogue for early settlement of the boundary issue on the basis of 'PoliticalParameters and Guiding Principles' signed in 2005.
A hotline has been set up between the Foreign Ministers, India's Ambassador to ChinaNirupama Rao told journalists after the two-and-a-half hour talks betweenMukherjee and Li that covered bilateral, regional and international issues ofmutual interest.
She said the two sides agreed that they needed to develop friendship in allspheres and build 'mutual political trust'.
