Kuala Lumpur: India and Malaysiawill explore possibilities for strengthening collaboration in trade, investmentand tourism during Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar's visit to New Delhi beginningtoday(Feb 14, 2007).
Syed Hamid will lead a high-powered delegation at the Malaysia-India JointCommission beginning tomorrow as the two countries commemorate 50 years ofdiplomatic ties this year.
The meeting will review bilateral relations between the two countries andexplore possibilities of strengthening collaborative endeavours in areas oftrade, investment, transportation, tourism, culture and agriculture.
Both sides will also examine potentials in the areas of science and technology,labour, immigration and consular, education, youth and sports and other mattersof mutual interests, Malaysian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Syed Hamid is scheduled to call on Prime Minister anmohan Singh and deliver aspecial message from Malaysian premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on enhancingbilateral relations between the two countries.
The foreign minister will also meet his counterpart Pranab Mukherjee andexchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues.
