Kerala's Technopark to become biggest IT park

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's IT park Technopark will becomethe country's largest on Feb 22 when Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandaninaugurates a 720,000 sq ft building, taking total built up area in the campusto 2.2 million sq ft. 

The new building called Tejeshwani has 12 floors and isbelieved to be the single largest building in the IT industry in the country.

The Technopark campus, 12 km from here, presently has 1.5million sq ft built up area with 110 companies operating with 15,000 employees.

After Feb 22, Technopark would push ITPL Bangalore to secondplace and TidalPark in Chennai to third.

"This is not the end. In the course of the year, threecompanies are building their own campus here and would have a total of 800,000sq ft. The Mumbai-based Leela Group is also building their campus here andwould have 500,000 sq ft," said M. Vasudevan, business manager ofTechnopark.

"In the next three months time, 6,000 new jobs would becreated," Vasudevan told sources.
