PPN appoints Neville as CEO for APAC

nevilleMumbai: Publicitas Promotion Network (PPN), a division of PubliGroupe S.A.(SWISS:PUBN)the marketing and sales organization for media advertising, along with their partner in India Mediascope today (Mar 21,2007)announced the appointment of Neville Taraporewalla as CEO for the new media entity that it will be setting up shortly.

Neville is also designated as Online Media Director for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region including India, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong & China.

Moritz Wuttke said,"We are delighted to have Neville joining our group and reinforcing our operations in India through Mediascope Publicitas. As more and more advertisers need support for planning and deciding the right media mix strategy,essential to supply them with expertise"

Neville will be responsible for setting up the online operations in India to specifically promote online advertising for publishers in India, outside India and in the fast developing mobile space.

Neville will also manage the APAC responsibilities for online media sales for all PPN country organizations.

"The Digital landscape is going through enormous changes in India with media consumptions patterns set to alter in the next 12 -18 months. Marketers across the board need qualified advise and clear audience segmentation for their monies to work better using digital initiatives like online content sites and mobile, which jointly deliver an audience no medium can match in India,"said Neville

In order to bolster the group's long standing publisher relationships, it will assist publishers in the Indian market in generating better yields for their websites than they are currently getting," he said.

Neville was earlier the Country General Manager of Yahoo! in India, the largest Internet Media and Communications company in the world where he was responsible for running the India operations from 2002-2006.

During his career spanning 20 years, Neville has worked with leading publishing houses in India like the Times of India Group, Mid Day Multimedia Ltd and also overseas with the Khaleej Times in various leadership roles.

An early adopter of the Internet medium in 1996 he set up the Times of India Groups Internet initiatives in 1996. Co-founder of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), Neville is the immediate past Chairman of the Industry body.
