rajnathMainpuri (UP): BJP president Rajnath Singh today said his party would prefer to sit in the opposition if it did not get an absolute majority in the elections.

He made it clear that BJP would not enter into any kind of post-poll tie up with the BSP.

Addressing an election rally at Kisni near here, Singh said "Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati were the two most corrupt chief ministers Uttar Pradesh ever had" adding CBI inquiries have been ordered against both.

The BJP chief said his party was not against reservations to Muslims but it should be given to the most backwards among the community and not on the basis of religion.

He alleged that the Yadav government had patronised mafia and criminals during its regime as a result of which the law and order situation in the state had taken a turn for the worse.
