London:Al-Qaeda sympathizers in the UK are sending hundreds of thousands of pounds in cash to terrorist groups in Pakistan to fund their operations against Western democracies including Britain, an intelligence report has claimed. Young British Muslims are being 'radicalised' by extremists despite a crackdown on Al-Qaeda supporters in mosques and community centres across Britain, 'The Sunday Telegraph' said quoting the intelligence document. The report, produced from intelligence provided by Mi5 and the police, said, "Security Service and police investigations continue to detect high levels of operational activity by UK-based Islamist extremist networks," "Extremists are engaged in fundraising, radicalization and training and in providing support to fellow extremists overseas. The purpose of a proportion of this clandestine activity is unclear. The high levels of activity are consistent with the judgment that an attack in the UK is highly likely". "Government buildings, Ministry of Defence establishments and sites such as the London Eye are at 'severe' risk of terrorist attacks," it said.
