Nasik: Three persons, including a girl and a woman, were killed and 18 others injured in rain-related incidents at different places of the district after Nasik city and its adjoining areas received heavy pre-monsoon showers A 19-year-old girl was killed when lightning struck at Aundhewadi in Sinnar taluka last evening, while a 55-year-old woman died in Gangamhalungi village in a similar incident, according to reports. A 28-year-old youth was killed in CIDCO locality here when he received electric shock while repairing a TV antenna. In another incident, 18 people, including two women, were injured when an onion-shed collapsed following stormy winds and rain at Lasalgaon near here. Besides Nasik, Sinnar, Trimbakeshwar, Lasalgaon, Bhagur and other parts also experienced heavy rains. Power supply was badly affected as electric-wires were snapped at many places. Posh Gangapur road, College road, Mahatma Gandhi road were plunged into darkness till late in the night, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd sources said. Damage to open stock of onions and other crops was also reported in the district, the sources added.
