NEW DELHI: With tension prevailing in large parts of Rajasthan, Dausa MP Sachin Pilot on Saturday appealed for calm and peace. He said that only talks can bring out a solution to the stand-off between the Gujjar community and the state government. "Talks are on between the leaders of the community and the Rajasthan government. We all wish that a solution evolves soon as only dialogue can bring truce," he said. "I would like to appeal to maintain peace and harmony, as it has always been the tradition of Rajasthan," he added. "I still stand by my promise that if the State government fails to compensate the aggrieved sufficiently then the Centre would make announcements accordingly," he said. Pilot who belongs to the Gujjar community has been provided Z security by the Union Home Ministry.
