New Delhi: Appealing to the people to vote for the inclusion of the Taj Mahal among the Seven Wonders of the World, Culture Minister Ambika Soni today said she was rooting for the white-marble monument of love as an Indian.

Soni said though there was no "official support" for inclusion of the Taj in the list of seven wonders as the poll was being held by a Swiss non-profit group, yet as a citizen she would vote for the monument. "India is not officially supporting the campaign as it is not UNESCO-supported. But as a citizen I would like people to be part of the campaign, to talk about it and vote for it to bring it to international limelight," she told reporters here. "I would personally like to participate in it and will feel happy if it is voted to the list," she said here.

The Swiss non-profit group -- The New7wonders Foundation -- has launched a global online, telephone and SMS poll to name the top seven marvels of the world and Taj Mahal finds itself among the top. The final announcement will be made on July 7 in Lisbon, Portugal.
