Twenty-year-old Deepak had allegedly fallen eloped with a minor girl and had purportedly married her a month ago in Jansath in the district, the police said adding, the couple had appeared before a local court seeking protection in wake of the opposition from their families.

On finding the girl to be a minor the Magistrate sent her to a nari niketan and sent the boy to jail, they said. The girl was later hander over to her parents and the boy was released on bail.
