Cell phone bills of ministers to be reimbursed

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government has decided to reimburse the mobile phone bills of all the ministers and senior officials of the state.

The officials who get the facility include chief secretary, principal secretary to chief minister, Director General of Police (DGP) and principal private secretary to the chief minister.

Mobile phone bills of these officers will be reimbursed on actual basis besides the expenses on the landline phone, a notification issued by the Finance Department said.

Officers of the secretary rank and heads of the department will get Rs 1,000 bimonthly for the mobile phones in addition to Rs 2,800 for the landline phone. Additional Directors General of Police (ADGP), Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police (SPs) will get Rs 800 for the mobile phones besides Rs 2,200 for the land line phone at their residences.
The engineer-in-chief, conservators of forest, branch officers, incharge of protocol in General Administrative Department (GAD) and ADMs have also been kept in this category. Special secretaries, additional secretaries, joint secretaries, private secretaries to ministers, additional superintendents of police, additional directors and sub-divisional magistrates will get Rs 600 for the mobile phones and Rs 1,400 for landlines at their residences.
Other officers will get Rs 800 bimonthly for their residential phones and Rs 400 for mobile.
