Water sharing is in the agenda of Indo-B'desh talk

New Delhi: Sharing of waters of some of the common rivers will figure during the Secretary-level talks between India and Bangladesh beginning here tomorrow.

Discussion on dredging of river Icchamati, minor lift irrigation scheme, drinking water supply schemes, bank protection programmes and sharing of waters of common rivers are some of the issues that would become during talks, Water Ministry sources said.

While the 18-member Bangladesh side would be led by its water resources Secretary Syed Mohd Zobaer, Gauri Chatterjee, Secretary in the water resources Ministry, will lead the Indian side in the talks.
