Judge related to Ayodhya re-appointed

New Delhi: A retired Allahabad High Court judge, who was hearing the matters related to Ayodhya, has been re-appointed to continue the hearing.

President Pratibha Patil has appointed Justice Om Prakash Srivastava, a retired Judge of the Allahabad High Court "to sit and act as a Judge of the Allahabad High Court," the Ministry of Law and Justice said in a statement here today.

The fresh appointment has been made for a period of one year with effect from the date he assumes charge of office, the ministry said.

In another appointment, Veena Birbal has been made the Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date she assumes charge of office, the statement said.

The President has also appointed justice Kailash Gambhir, justice Gurindar Singh Sistani, justice S Muralidhar and justice Hima Kohli as Additional Judges of the Delhi High Court.
