Hyderabad: Alleging total collapse of law and order in Andhra Pradesh, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy has "no moral authority to continue in office even for a minute". The twin blasts that shook the city yesterday were unprecedented in the state's history and were the direct result of intelligence failure, Naidu told reporters after chairing an emergency meeting of his party's Politburo here.
The Congress government had failed to nab the culprits in the Mecca Masjid blast here even three months after the attack, the former chief minister said. Holding the Chief Minister accountable for the failure on security front, Naidu said, "the Congress high command should apply its mind on this. This Chief Minister is incapable of protecting the lives and properties of people." Alleging that Reddy had lost grip over the administration, he said "terrorist and anti-social elements were having a field day." The main Opposition, he said, would organise state-wide rallies on August 28 to highlight the "failure" of the Rajasekhar Reddy government in maintaining law and order.
