Bangalore: India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, GSLV-F04, carrying the country's latest communication satellite INSAT-4CR is scheduled to blast off on September two from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, ISRO said.

This will be the fifth flight of GSLV, the Bangalore-headquartered ISRO said in a statement today adding the launch will be at around 1620 hours.
INSAT-4CR carries 12 high-power Ku-band transponders designed to provide direct-to-home television services, video picture transmission and digital satellite news gathering.

The launch campaign is progressing satisfactorily at Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR. The satellite has already been integrated with the launch vehicle, it was stated.
