oscar_fernandesNew Delhi: A bill providing for quota for apprentices in the private sector is likely to be introduced in Parliament on Thursday.

"This is an apprentice bill. Here you are not giving any employment. This is a training programme," Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes told NDTV when asked if the industry would welcome it after having shot down the idea of reservation in private sector.

Fernandes said the quota for apprentices would be within the 50 percent reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Castes.
