Baharampur: The body of Jatin Sarkar, father of one of the victims in the Nithari serial killings and a complainant in the case, has been recovered from a river in West Bengal's Murshidabad district. Superintendent of Police, Rahul Srivastava today said that the body was recovered on September one and post-mortem reports stated that the death was due to drowning. Sarkar had filed a petition in the court of Special CBI Judge Sapna Mishra in Ghaziabad on April 28 seeking reinvestigation of the case.

Parents of Payal (22), Pinki Sarkar (14) and Payal (14) had collectively filed the petition. At least 17 human skulls and bones were dug up from near the house of the main accused, Maninder Singh Pandher, in Noida's Sector 31 in December last year.
