pranab_1Bangkok: Although looked up to as the world's largest and most vibrant democracy, India does not have problems working with those who have ousted elected governments by force, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said here today. "We have to live with the government of the day. It is the right of the people in the concerned country to decide what kind of government they would like to have", Mr Mukherjee said in a media interview before his departure for South Korea this morning.

New Delhi has been following the progress towards restoration of democracy in Thailand, the minister said. "We wish Thailand well and look forward to cooperating with the new government that will come in after the elections", he said. Asked if India had advice to offer Thailand on establishing democratic governance, Mr Mukherjee replied that each country had to determine its own path to democratic rule. India has no problem dealing with any form of government and does not believe in interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, he added.
