Moscow: Six people have been killed in a helicopter crash in far eastern Russia, an official from Russia's emergency situations ministry said today. The accident happened in the Magadan region yesterday but the wreckage of the helicopter was only found on today, the official was quoted as saying by Interfax news agency.
A seventh person, believed to be a crew member, survived but is in a serious condition, the official said. Magadan has few roads to connect towns and villages and helicopters are frequently used for passenger transport and supplies. The region is eight time zones east of Moscow.
