Hyderabad: Inviting the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) to join hands with the BJP to realise the formation of separate Telangana, BJP national President Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said the party is ready to fight for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh with the TRS.
The BJP is the only national party supporting the cause of Telangana. If the BJP-led NDA comes to power at the Centre, it would immediately take steps to create a separate Telangana state, he said addressing the press here.
If the TRS rally wants to achieve separate Telangana, it should come forward and join hands with the BJP, he added.
Alleging that the Centre had failed to combat terrorist activities supported by extremist organisations based in Pakistan and Bangladesh, Singh said the BJP would support the Union Government if an Act was brought to tackle terrorism.
Refferring to Ramsetu issue, the BJP leader alleged that the Centre's affidavit filed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the Supreme Court that there was no evidence to prove the existence of the characters or the occurence of the events in the Ramayana had hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus.
