Delhi: The Rohini metro station was evacuated today afternoon and searched by bomb squads after bomb making material was found in a bag being taken into the station, Zee News has reported.
The person carrying the bag, allegedly named Suresh, was stopped by Central Industrial Security Force personnel guarding the station when he tried to enter the station carrying two bags. While the CISF personnel were searching the first bag Suresh went away on the pretext of making a phone call and did not return.
The second bag was then searched and found to contain all necessary bomb making material, including explosives and wiring. But the detonators that are required to set off the explosion were not found in the bag.
The CISF immediately informed the police and the bomb squad started searching the station for more explosives. Security was also beefed up immediately at all other metro stations.
At about this time, two women approached the CISF personnel at the Rohini metro station, saying that a relative of theirs had left two bags at the security check point. Both the women were immediately taken into custody by the CISF personnel. Senior police officials were at the spot and questioned them about the identity of Suresh and his whereabouts, when reports last came in.
