Hardoi: BSP MLA from Bilgram in the district, Upendra Tewari, died of cardiac arrest late last night in Lucknow.
Tewari was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow after he complained of chest pain, family sources here said today. Tewari is survived by two children. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati, her cabinet colleagues S C Mishra and Naseemuddin Siddique visited the MLA's residence this morning and consoled his family members.
Mayawati later told reporters that her party would nominate Tewari's wife Rajni from the assembly seat vacated by her husband and provide all possible assistance to the bereaved family.
