Narnaul: Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that Rs 354 crore Hansi-Butana canal would be ready by December this year as about 95 per cent construction work of this canal is already completed which will ensure equitable distribution of irrigation water all across the state, particularly the areas of south Haryana.
Addressing the people at Pragati Rally at here, he took a dig at the warning of the son of INLD supremo, Om Prakash Chautala for waging a civil war on this issue. He said that the present government would not budge with these warnings and ensure that the farmers of southern Haryana get their right on canal water. He said that this area had been discriminated and treated unfairly for the last 40 years. Now all possible efforts would be made for the fast development of this area, he said.
He said surprisingly the INLD leaders and suspended congress Member of Parliament, Kuldeep Bishnoi have opposed the construction of Hansi-Butana canal. As many as 65 Panchayats of Adampur constituency have passed a resolution to this effect.
