Bangalore: Hoping to get a positive response to its claim for government formation from Governor Rameshwar Thakur, the BJP today convened its core group meeting to take stock of the political situation and chalk out future plans.
The meeting, being held in the residence of former Deputy Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, is also debating the rebellion that has risen in the JDS in the wake of a section of MLAs owing allegiance to M P Prakash opposing the renewal of coalition ties with the saffron party.
Senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, state unit party president D V Sadanadna Gowda and some senior leaders have been debating the situation, sources in the BJP said. In a swift development yesterday, the JDS unilaterally declared its support to the BJP to form the government.
