Nawaz Sharif’s wife operated upon in Capital

New Delhi: Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of exiled former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, was operated upon at a private hospital in the capital on Tuesday.

The former premier’s wife who has been living in London for the past one year had both her knee joints replaced by leading orthopedic surgeon Dr Rajgopal.

Kulsoom Nawaz made a quiet entry into the capital two ago and was hospitalised in a private South Delhi hospital immediately. She is accompanied by her elder son Hamza Sharif and his wife.

Doctors at the hospital where she was operated upon refused to divulge details about the operation. They only confirmed that she had both her knee joints replaced. Her son Hamza was also not available for comments.

Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had also undergone a similar operation in Mumbai.
