PM shocked over attack on TNCC chief

Chennai: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has expressed shock over the attack on Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President M Krishnaswamy on Monday.

In a letter to Krishnaswamy, Dr Singh said: "By the grace of God, I am happy that you are under medical treatment and out of danger. I have spoken to your son, Dr Vishnu Prasad and conveyed my feelings to him. I pray for your speedy recovery and wish you a long life".

A copy of the letter was made available to the press here today. The TNCC chief was stabbed by unidentified persons on the night of October 29 near Ramanathapuram while he was on his way to attend a function at Mudukulathur.
