Hearing on case against UPSC tomorrow

Kanpur, Oct 31 (PTI) A case against the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for allegedly describing freedom fighter Sardar Bhagat Singh as a "terrorist" in a question paper will be heard by a court here tomorrow.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate R K Bansal today clarified that UPSC Chairman Gurbachan Jagat was not summoned by him yesterday. He said that the hearing in the case will take place tomorrow. A lawyer, Ram Narain Singh Sengar, yesterday told mediapersons that the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate had summoned the UPSC Chairman in the case.

The General Studies paper of Civil Services Examination (mains) last week had allegedly used the word terrorist to describe Bhagat Singh
Sengar, who filed the petition, had said that the chairman was summoned for using the word terrorist to describe the freedom fighter and hurting the sentiments of the people.
