Patna: A court here on Saturday will hear the bail plea of JD(U) MLA Anant Singh who has been detained for assaulting a journalist. He is currently lodged in the Beur jail.
The MLA was taken to the custody after he assaulted a journalist who went to his place to inquire about rape charges made by a girl on him. He was badly beaten up by MLA and his associates.
In order to protest the incident, RJD called for a Bihar bandh on Friday, which took a violent turn resulting in court arrest of Rabri Devi.
MLA Anant Singh belongs to the ruling party of chief minister Nitish Kumar.
