New Delhi: The national capital will today witnessed a rapid fire round of Gujjars, as they geared up for their 'Swabhiman Rally' here.
Around 5 lakh Gujjars from Rajasthan and across India will gather at Ram Leela Maidan under Col Kirori Singh Bainsala.
Leaders are hoping that this time they will be successful in pressurising the Raje government to recommend ST status to the Gujjar community. So far, this reservation protest has seen massive violent reactions resulting in rail and road roko agitations.
Besides, demand for ST status, Gujjars are also demanding creation of a separate Gujjar regiment in the Indian Army and to facilitate Gujjar representation in various central and state services.
