'Emergency imposition a valid step'
Saturday, November 03, 2007 12:47 [IST]

Islamabad: The Pakistan government, although not yet imposed emergency so far, has strongly supported the decision of possible imposition of emergency in the country.

While supporting government's side on this issue, Minister of state for Information and Broadcasting, Tariq Azeem remarked that in certain conditions emergency imposition becomes valid and constitutional.

"Considering the ongoing law and order system in the country, the government can think of emergency but, at present, no such decision has been taken", he said. He also added that the government will try all possible things to have free and fair polls in the country and government is committed to it.
