Patna: Mukesh Singh, one of the main accused in last Thursday's attack on journalists by ruling JD-U MLA Anant Singh and his men, was remanded to judicial custody for 13 days today.
Singh, a prominent builder of the town, who was arrested yesterday by the Patna police from a place under Pirbahore police station, was presented before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Raghwendra Singh who remanded him to judicial custody today till November 19. The builder was sent to high security Beur jail where the other two accused MLA Anant Singh and his private body gurad Bipin Singh are already lodged.
Bipin Singh had surrendered before the court of CJM yesterday. Meanwhile, the CJM posted for tomorrow the hearing of the regular bail petition filed by the builder. TV news channel NDTV's reporter Prakash Singh and cameramen Habib Ali and a journalist of TV news agency ANI Ajay Kumar were confined and brutally thrashed by Anant Singh, Mukesh Singh and Bipin Singh when they had gone to the MLA's house for his comments on the allegation of repeated rape of a woman and her murder in which their involvement was suspected.
