Indian currency as entry fee for monuments

New Delhi: All foreign tourists visiting Archeological Survey of India protected monuments in the country will have to pay in Indian rupees instead of US dollars as entry fee.

Any foreign tourist visiting World Heritage Site will have to pay Rs 250 as entry fee while he/she has to pay Rs 100 while visiting any protected monument, an official said.

The new fee will come into effect when the government issues a notification in this regard.

Currently the entry fee for a foreigner is US
