Vatican City: Pope Benedict XVI appealed today for international solidarity towards Bangladesh where a devastating cyclone has killed a reported 3,000 people.
During his weekly Sunday address, the pope expressed his "profound sorrow for the families and the entire nation" of Bangladesh, where the toll of 3,000 is expected to grow still.
"I encourage (the international) community to put in place all possible efforts to help these brothers so sorely tried," Pope Benedict said.
