Kopargaon (Mah): Veteran freedom fighter and Congress leader Jagannath Raghunath Udavanta died of heart attack here, family sources said. He was 90.
Udavanta, fondly called "Anna", suffered the attack late last night, family sources said. He is survived by three sons, three daughters and wife. Udavanta had played an active role in the 1942 Quit India Movement and had also undergone a three month jail term at the time. After independence, he joined Congress and was considered close to several leaders like Swami Sadanand Bharti. He was cremated at the banks of Godavari river this morning.
