Srinagar: Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today said the third front was taking concrete shape with all the constituents of the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) meeting at Vijaywada this weekend.
All UNPA constituents are meeting on November 24 at Vijaywada, Yadav told reporters here and added that besides TDP, AIADMK and INLD, the alliance was also in constant touch with left parties and expected them to join the third front sooner or later.
The former UP Chief Minister arrived here today just a day after Mayawati s visit to strengthen the party unit in Jammu and Kashmir.
There are several other parties in the North-East and other parts of the country willing to join the third front, he said.
Asked if National Conference, the single largest party in Jammu and Kashmir, was part of the alliance, Yadav said he was not sure about NC joining the alliance yet. He, however, said if party leaders like Farooq Abdullah or Omar Abdullah join the Vijaywada conclave it would be clear that the party is with the third front.
Earlier addressing a party workers' convention here Yadav called for formation of a confederation of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh to scuttle the nefarious designs Of America.
