JDS cancels November 21 rally
Monday, November 19, 2007 19:31 [IST]

Bangalore: Following the collapse of the BJP government, the JDS today announced cancellation of its proposed show of strength here on November 21.

The JDS had planned for swearing in of its ministers, including former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy as deputy Chief Minister on November 21 and to stage a massive rally in a show of strength.

"The rally planned on November 21 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances", JDS said in a press release here.

But the JDS today decided to vote against the government on the floor of the assembly, prompting Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to resign.
